Why we build on Loyverse (and why we think it's great)
We're a Loyverse add-on, so we're biased — but we'd argue the case anyway. For an independent F&B operator, Loyverse is one of the most quietly generous tools in the industry. Here's what it gets right.

But we chose to build on Loyverse on purpose, after looking hard at the alternatives, and we’d make the case even if we weren’t an add-on. For an independent café, bar or restaurant, Loyverse is one of the most quietly generous tools in the whole industry.
Here’s what it gets right.
It’s genuinely free — and the free tier is actually usable
This is the headline, and it’s rarer than it sounds. A lot of “free” software is a crippled demo that nags you toward a paywall before you can do anything real. Loyverse isn’t that.
The POS app is free. The Back Office and dashboard are free. The Kitchen Display (KDS) and Customer Display (CDS) are free. You can run a real venue — take orders, print or display tickets, track inventory, run basic loyalty — without paying a cent. Loyverse keeps the lights on by charging only for the more advanced add-ons that operationally mature businesses choose to turn on. For a new or small operator, that pricing model is a gift: the barrier to running a proper POS is essentially zero.
It runs on hardware you already own
You don’t need a proprietary terminal or an expensive bundle. Loyverse runs on an ordinary Android or iOS phone or tablet. A single owner-operator can run their whole front-of-house on a device that’s already in their pocket, and scale up to multiple stations when they’re ready — without a capital outlay to get started.
For independents in particular, that’s the difference between “we’ll get a real POS someday” and “we have one today.”
It works where the big names don’t
This is the one outsiders miss. The well-known POS brands concentrate on a handful of wealthy markets. Loyverse went the other way — it’s truly multilingual and works across a huge range of countries, including plenty that the big platforms simply don’t serve.
If you’re running a venue in a market the major players ignore, Loyverse is often the only serious, modern, free POS available to you. That global reach is a genuine act of leveling the field for small operators everywhere, and it’s a big part of why we built where we did.
It’s simple — on purpose
Loyverse doesn’t try to be everything. It does the core POS job — ring sales, manage items, track stock, run a kitchen display — and it does it without burying you in features you’ll never touch. For a busy operator, that restraint is a feature, not a limitation. You can hand it to a new hire and they’ll be ringing orders in minutes.
And it keeps your data yours
Here’s the part we care about most, because our whole product depends on it: Loyverse offers a clean, well-documented public API, and it lets you generate a read-only access token from your own Back Office. That means your sales data is genuinely yours — you can connect tools to it, analyse it, build on it, and revoke that access any time, all without Loyverse standing in the way.
That openness is why VentaLens can exist at all. Loyverse captures your sales faithfully; the API lets you choose to do more with that data if you want to. A closed POS that locked your numbers away would leave you stuck with whatever reports it decided to show you. Loyverse made the opposite, more generous choice.

So this is the honest shape of it: Loyverse is the foundation, and a very good one. It records your sales cleanly, for free, on hardware you own, almost anywhere in the world, and it keeps your data open. That’s the hard part, and Loyverse nails it.
